The best spots to paint the town red in Kuala Lumpur
Tuesday, December 27, 2016
After five years spending my early 20's in Kuala lumpur and I moved back to Penang recently, however I can't forget the lifestyle that I experienced in KL for years...
When the sun goes down in Kuala Lumpur, these are the
places that you should totally visit for the perfect, unforgettable night out.
The best bars and nightclubs in Kuala Lumpur are of calming jazz bars and
Hawaiian themed bars to electrified dance clubs, where you can expect the best
hits in a variety of genres.
While most of the nightlife in Kuala Lumpur starts in
Changkat, Bukit Bintang, there’s no shortage of exciting venues in different
part of the city where you can party (or not) all night long. So put on your
favourite dancing shoes and party your night away at some of the best spots in
Kuala Lumpur.
Zouk KL at TREC Jalan Tun Razak
Can’t deny, my all-time favourite nightclub spot.
Zouk KL, a sprawling nightclub, bar, live music venue and
restaurant, is an icon on Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife scene and has been around
since 2004. Located along Jalan Ampang previously, and now moving to TREC; encompasses
11 rooms including the Main Room, Phuture, Terrace Bar and Velvet Underground.
At Zouk KL, a rotating list of local and international DJs spin heady dance
floor tracks until the wee hours and has also attracted international, famous
headliners such as DJ Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk and David Morales in the past.
Pisco Bar at Changkat Bukit Bintang
Pisco Bar, situated opposite Parkroyal Serviced Suites
KL, stands out from Bukit Bintang’s horde of bustling bars and pubs with its
eclectic decor of industrial chic and contemporary pop culture, outstanding
Spanish tapas and cocktails, as well as ambience unlike any other. The ground
floor is furnished with long tables and wooden benches for dining and social
gatherings while a flight of exposed stairs takes guests up to an open terrace
and stylish indoor space that hosts cocktail parties and movie screenings with
resident DJs spinning techno and deep house tunes all night long.
Rootz Rooftop Bar at Bukit Bintang
Rootz Rooftop Bar is an opulent nightclub that is devoted
to the idea of debonair drinking, complete with a lavishly-conceived version of
a Russian palace bar. Velvet drapes, thick carpeting and gilded paintings of
early 19th century Renaissance revival on the walls has us instantly impressed;
from the entrance hall, it opens up to a ballroom-sized 700-capacity space. The
music policy of R&B, house and remixed top 40 tunes makes it one of the
best clubs in Kuala Lumpur.
Havana Bar & Grill at Changkat Bukit Bintang
Havana Bar & Grill is a popular restaurant and
nightclub that’s set in an elegant 1950s mansion with a distinctive Latin
American ambience. Resembling a colorful Cuban-style hacienda in a tropical rainforest,
this two-storey establishment is divided into three bright and colorful areas –
an open-air pub, a cigar lounge and a restaurant that serves up island-inspired
drinks and a mix of Cajun classics and Louisiana Creole specialties. In
addition to talented DJs playing samba, bachata, and disco tunes, there’s also
a live salsa band and dance shows held on certain nights to keep the party
bouncing till the wee hours of morning.
