Genting Highlands to Build The World’s First 20th Century Fox Theme Park

This BIG news is taking our “Cuti-Cuti Malaysia” project to a whole new level.

More than RM400 million were invested by Genting Malaysia Bhd to build the world’s first 20th Century Fox Theme Park to replace the recent one at Resort World Genting Highlands.

“The development of the 20th Century Fox branded theme park paves the way for continued dynamic business growth and in ensuring that Resort World Genting continues to be an exceptional tourist destination both locally and internationally,” said Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman and Chief Executive.

The investment of 20th Century Fox Theme Park was part of Resort World Genting ‘s refurbishment project which worth RM3 billion. This included the construction of an additional 1,300 hotel rooms adjoin the First World Hotel.

Datuk Lee Choong Yan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Genting Malaysia signed on behalf of the company while 20th Century Fox was represented by Jeffrey Godsick, Consumer Products President.

The theme park will build on a 10 hectare (100,000 m2) space and feature more than 25 rides and attractions which include thrill rides, water rides, dark rides for children and media-based rides. The theme park will be using up to 30 films’ intellectual property rights including Ice Age, Rio, Fantastic Four, Life of Pi and more.

Prior to the construction of the theme park, the current outdoor theme park will be closed on 1st September 2013 and the new theme park will be completed in year 2015 and re-open in year 2016.

So, head to the theme park for last time NOW before it closes and expect theire brand new ones!
